East Village Tango
There's just too much crazy shit going on these days not to have a blog. Not when you have access to a video camera or other documentary device anyhoo...
I went to St. Marks with Dave last night to see Reverend Billy and the Stop Shopping Gospel Choir. I've seen them a few times before... always a good time, and certainly among the more meaningful church-going experiences I've had. Kurt Vonnegut was there to say a few words, but it was hot as hell and he had to take off early.
I brought a video camera along, more or less to document the show, but as always, the characters came out of the woodwork. I'll get around to putting together a Rev. Billy film, but last night the real beauty came before and after the show; images, sounds, and characters left and right.
Behold the first of a series of short works: "Respect", an encounter in an East Village deli.
